It isn't easy being purple

When asked what the one thing voters should be watching for in the political morass of Super Tuesday, George Will said: Missouri. Strap in, it will be fun to watch!

I don't know if it will be fun or not! Depends on the outcome. What do you think of Maria Shriver coming out for Obama - even though her husband has endorsed McCain? That seems like a pretty big deal for her, personally.

Had not seen that. Probably was a big deal for her personally, but don't know if it will carry much weight in terms of result (who knows, though?). I think McCain's going to sew 'er up tomorrow. Mildly surprised Obama seems to be moving so rapidly in the polls.

It might have been interesting to hear their conversation at the breakfast table when Maria told Arnold, "You know, honey, I think I will come out for Obama today."

I don't think Maria's endorsement will swing a huge amount of votes.

However, I think it does demonstrate the very strong fervor that Obama supporters feel in general. I am sure Maria very rarely, if ever, publicly announces a position that is opposite of her husband, even if she frequently does hold a different opinion from his. Same for Caroline Kennedy - I think basically she is averse to putting herself out there in the public eye.

In both Caroline's and Maria's announcements, they referenced their teenage children. I think the kids are Obama fans, and challenged their mothers to stand up and be counted.

These things seem to add up to a very big deal.

Still waiting to see how Missouri comes out for the Democrats--they've figured out California for crying out loud and with 98% of the vote counted in mighty MO it is still too close to call (Obama up by 5K though!)
